dressing for a job interview (high school)

Dressing for a job interview can be tricky- especially in high school!

You want to look professional for a job interview whatever your age is. But especially in high school, you want a look that makes you different from everybody else. Most people will be wearing a skirt or dress and ballet flats, so you can stand out just by having that super-sophisticated look!

{one} blazer to show professionalism

Wearing a blazer immediately makes you look professional and serious about the interview. Styled right, it will look super chic.

{two} well-tailored pants to show androgyny (and like you're not trying too hard)

For a teenage girl, wearing a dress or skirt to the interview is typical. Wearing pants makes you seem more androgynous and the interviewer will be more inspired to examine you as a person than a female.

{three} heel to show confidence

Wearing heels literally makes you "stand a little taller" and will give you an extra confidence boost!

{four} button-down to show simplicity and conformity

A button down is great to wear to an interview in lieu of the potential uniform you'd be wearing. Although you need pieces that say "I stand out," you also need pieces to blend you in. A solid pastel is best; bright colors or patterns are too distracting and white is too boring.

{five} watch to show sophistication

Wearing a stylish watch shows you're sophisticated and tasteful.

{six} headband or necklace to show you stand out

You need one single piece that makes you stand out and catches the interviewer's attention. Tastefully, this is very effective. When the interviewer is going back to think about the applicants, you will want to be wearing a small sparkly or colorful piece that will immediately pop up in his or her mind.

Good luck at your interview! ;)

  3. Great tips. I thought about wearing a nice well tailored suit for an interview but a blazer on top of a pastel coloured button down shirt sounds more attractive and chic. I love you it!
